Harvesters Support Grant (HSG) & Community Food Programs Fund (CFPF)

Overview:

The Harvesters Support Grant (HSG) and Community Food Programs Fund (CFPF) support Indigenous and northern communities in strengthening local food systems, food sovereignty, and access to traditional and culturally appropriate foods. Developed in collaboration with Indigenous and northern partners, the programs help fund harvesting, food sharing, local food production, and community-led food security initiatives.

The Harvesters Support Grant supports traditional hunting, harvesting, and food-sharing activities, while the Community Food Programs Fund expands support for community food programs such as school meal programs, Elders’ meals, community kitchens, and local food distribution initiatives.

Together, these programs help reduce reliance on store-bought food, support traditional harvesting practices, and strengthen community-driven food security solutions.
