This program provides funding to help First Nations purchase, build, renovate, or improve capital assets that support the delivery of First Nations Child and Family Services and Jordan’s Principle services. Funding helps create safe, accessible, culturally appropriate spaces that support children, youth, and families.

The Capital and Innovation Program supports community-owned infrastructure and knowledge-based projects that strengthen economic development, community wellbeing, and long-term sustainability in coastal communities. Through this program, the Island Coastal Economic Trust invests in projects that help communities diversify local economies, build climate resilience, create new revenue opportunities, and develop lasting community assets.

The Trail Catalyst Fund supports projects that improve, maintain, restore, and strengthen trail networks across Canada. Administered by Trans Canada Trail, the fund helps communities, organizations, and Indigenous groups enhance trail infrastructure, promote environmental stewardship, increase accessibility, support workforce development, and integrate Indigenous knowledge into trail planning and stewardship.

Supports Indigenous community-owned businesses and economic development projects in Alberta. The program helps communities build infrastructure, purchase equipment, expand operations, and create long-term economic opportunities.

Provides funding to support First Nations in developing sustainable waste management systems, including infrastructure, training, planning, and environmental protection initiatives.

Supports northern Indigenous communities in building climate resilience through adaptation planning and implementation of community-driven climate projects.

Supports First Nation communities in Ontario to plan, develop and implement community energy projects that improve reliability, lower costs, or advance clean energy.

Provides funding and technical support for on-reserve First Nations communities in Ontario to complete energy-efficiency upgrades in band-owned commercial and institutional buildings such as community centres, schools, and arenas.

Supports projects that improve the physical conditions for arts and heritage organizations, including renovations, specialized equipment, and planning or feasibility studies.
