Representation and Promotion

Overview:
Representation and Promotion is part of the Arts Across Canada and Abroad program. It provides funding for travel activities that promote Canadian artists and artistic works, support market development, and help establish a place for Canadian arts practice in the global arts market.

The program supports Canadian arts organizations representing artists internationally, developing global opportunities, and building relationships with international markets. Funding is also available to foreign arts organizations inviting Canadian artists to present their work and to Canadian arts organizations bringing international buyers to Canada.

Funding Amount:
Up to $30,000 per application
Maximum of $60,000 per year

Who Can Apply:
Eligible applicants include:

• Arts supporting groups
• First Nations, Inuit or Métis groups or collectives
• Supporting organizations
• Presenting organizations
• First Nations, Inuit or Métis not-for-profit organizations
• Business cultural connectors
• First Nations, Inuit or Métis for-profit organizations
• Foreign arts festivals, biennales or book fairs

Organizations currently receiving core grants can also apply.

Project Examples:
Eligible activities include:

• Formally representing and promoting Canadian artists and arts practices
• Researching artistic content for public presentation in Canada
• Bringing international buyers to Canada
• Leading a delegation from Canada abroad

Applicants can include several destinations within one trip and multiple trips within a single application.

Eligible expenses may include conference fees, booth rentals, market development materials, transportation, accommodation and per diems for up to 5 days per trip, shipping or baggage costs, required equipment, safety expenses, accessibility costs, and required child or dependent care.
