Wildfire Relief Bundle

Overview:
The Wildfire Relief Bundle provides emergency funding to First Nations affected by wildfires and Indigenous-led organizations providing frontline support to evacuated First Nation members. The funding is intended for immediate community relief and support during wildfire emergencies.

Funding Amount:
Up to $30,000 per applicant.
The Indigenous Peoples Resilience Fund (IPRF) has $1 million available for wildfire relief. Funding must go directly toward immediate community relief and support and cannot be used for administration.

Who Can Apply:
Eligible applicants include:

• A First Nation directly affected by a wildfire emergency
• An Indigenous-led and Indigenous-serving organization actively supporting evacuated First Nation members in an urban centre

Applicants must be located in, or serving affected communities in:

• British Columbia
• Manitoba
• Ontario
• Saskatchewan

Organizations supporting a wildfire-affected First Nation outside these provinces can contact the IPRF team to discuss eligibility.

Eligible applicants must be:

• A registered charity
• A not-for-profit organization
• A First Nation
• Another First Nations, Métis or Inuit council

Unincorporated community groups, collectives, individuals and for-profit organizations are not eligible for direct funding. They must apply through an established partnership with a First Nation, registered charity or registered not-for-profit.

Project Examples:
Funding can support immediate community relief and support for First Nations affected by wildfires, including urgent needs related to wildfire emergencies and supporting evacuated First Nation members.

Province/Scope:
British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario and Saskatchewan, with potential eligibility for wildfire-affected First Nations outside these provinces by contacting IPRF.

Deadline:
Ongoing until all available funding has been committed. Applications are reviewed as they are received, and the application portal will close once the available funding has been committed.
