FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

Provides loan guarantees (minimum $5M) for Indigenous communities and entities investing in eligible natural resource and value-added agriculture projects, enabling equity participation and lowering borrowing costs.

Supports Indigenous-led workforce development in B.C. to address employment gaps and build capacity (labour market plans/studies, cultural recognition supports, job fairs).

Coaching, workshops and resources to help B.C. First Nations and Indigenous organizations explore and set up co-operative business structures; accepts expressions of interest.

Non-repayable contributions for B.C. First Nations governments, Indigenous entrepreneurs and organizations to plan, launch, expand or transition regulated cannabis businesses. Streams: Community Engagement; Business Planning/Design/Capital.

Supports small-scale activities and travel to grow and advance artistic careers or practices in Canada or abroad.

Supports projects that build meaningful relationships between Indigenous Peoples and the Department of National Defence/Canadian Armed Forces through trust, dialogue, and cultural awareness.

Provides financial assistance to designated institutions and Indigenous organizations for the acquisition or repatriation of cultural property of outstanding significance.

Supports projects that improve the physical conditions for arts and heritage organizations, including renovations, specialized equipment, and planning or feasibility studies.

This program provides loan guarantees to support Indigenous equity ownership in natural resource and infrastructure projects. By backing loans, it helps Indigenous communities secure financing to participate in major projects.

EMAP funds First Nations on reserve to support emergency management activities. It covers response and recovery, as well as mitigation and preparedness.

This program supports First Nations communities south of 60°N to assess and plan for climate change impacts. It funds risk assessments, planning studies, and projects to build climate resilience at the community level.

The Community Opportunity Readiness Program (CORP) provides project-based funding to support First Nations and Inuit communities in pursuing economic development opportunities. It covers a wide range of activities from planning and feasibility studies to business infrastructure and start-up costs.

The New Fiscal Relationship (NFR) Grant is an optional Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) funding mechanism designed to provide First Nations, Tribal Councils, and First Nations–led service delivery organizations with long-term, flexible, and predictable funding. The grant aims to strengthen self-determination, reduce administrative burden, and improve financial stability across multiple programs and services.
